Date: 5th August 2018
Time: 9:30 am - 4:30 pm
If you are a student about to go it alone, a beginner in the kitchen or lack confidence in the kitchen then this is the class for you.
Cooking is a life skill that should be easy, enjoyable and produce tasty healthy results.
Our Principal, Yvette Farrell, has developed this class over many years of experiencing a general lack of confidence or experience people have when presented with the kitchen door. She believes that everyone can cook but may lack the skills, the knowledge, the ability to use fresh ingredients or may have fallen out of love with cookery as it has become a chore.
Whatever kind of experience you have had we aim to give you skills to enjoy cooking, to broaden your culinary horizons and to enjoy the social aspect of coming together over food.
During the class you will learn about: food hygiene, the store cupboard, budgeting, menu planning, the use of herbs, spices and stocks to add flavours, how to use knives safely & effectively, how to batch cook, to cook with health and value.
We will prep and serve breakfast, lunch and then afternoon tea together.
Go home with a clutch of recipes to start an independent life in the kitchen
