Mincemeat Recipe

Homemade mincemeat makes a huge difference to your mince pies. There are lots of variations out there but below is our favourite:


  • 500g Suet
  • 425ml Rum or Brandy
  • 250g Sultanas
  • 450g Dark Sugar
  • 250g Raisins
  • 100g Flaked almonds
  • 250g Mixed Peel
  • 500g Apples
  • 1 Lemon zest and juiced
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tsps mixed spice


  • Chop apples in to cubes and zest and juice the lemon. Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl. Cover and leave for 24 hours in a fridge. Spoon in to steralised jars.
