Harts Barn Cookery School is in a very special building and location in the beautiful Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire. The glass-fronted cookery school is on an awe inspiring site and surrounded by stunning countryside overlooking beautiful Gloucestershire hills.

The school was built to showcase its historic and picturesque surroundings. At its heart is a magnificent Norman Hunting Lodge, one of the oldest properties in the Forest of Dean built by William Duke of Normandy in 1068. The historic farm site has a 17th century cider mill and press, and its heritage pear and apple orchards today make traditional cider, perry and beautiful juices. The entire site is now heated by biomass heaters and a bio-dynamic garden is being lovingly nurtured to provide the best quality ingredients nature can provide.

The Harts Barn site is home to many talented craftspeople and artists with shops selling everything from jewellery and wood carvings to modern art and vintage homeware as well as having a health and beauty centre. At Harts Barn Craft Centre there is a small lake, picnic area and award-winning tea room for those wishing to combine their cooking experience with a great day out.
